This exhibition is the first venture of The Athletics Museum and we would like to thank the English Schools’ Athletic Association for the opportunity to work with them on this online material as we work towards securing space for a physical museum.  The ESAA project is ongoing and we hope to add more material in due course.

We have made every attempt to verify the accuracy and identify the rights’ holders of material in the exhibition. If you have a concern about anything in the exhibition, please contact us at and we will attend to the matter immediately.

We would like to thank the following people, without whom this exhibition would have been impossible: ESAA, John Mackie, Nicola Evans, Mike Fleet, Peter Radford, Job King, Claire Ayshford, Mark Shearman, Martin Etchells (click for obituary September 2020) and the athletes and officials who have contributed their thoughts.

In addition, we are grateful to our partners at AAA and England Athletics for their continued support for the museum.
