The Sportshall Athletics Story

The chances are if you went to school in the UK in the 1990s, 2000s, or 2010s, you have had some engagement with Sportshall Athletics. Either the equipment – foam javelins anyone? The national Sportshall Athletics Competition, or the legacy it has left in your PE lessons.

Sportshall these days is a global phenomenon – they’ve taken equipment and competition for children all over the world through their fun, team-based, supportive competition structure and equipment designed specifically for youngsters.

In this exhibition we explore the surprising origins of Sportshall Athletics and the impact it continues to have.
